Funny movie about a fictional one-hit-wonder band in the 1960s. Liv Tyler is the girl next door. Tom Hanks directs and plays a minor role as the band's manager. The excellent soundtrack includes new songs written in a variety of '60s pop styles.
The band's "hit", "That Thing You Do," was written for the film by Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne.
