Review of That Thing You Do! (1996) by Min K — 13 Jun 2009
Just like the one-hit song that the film derives its title from, this film is simple, catchy and succinct. While the first hour or so has a heightened sense of excitement and drive, once the band has reached its success point, the plot seems to span out in all manner of disorganized directions.
And the romance feels awkwardly inserted as an afterthought. No "Jersey Boys," but cute.
