Review of That Evening Sun (2009) by Toby E — 05 Dec 2010
Overall, a great film with a great cast. The conflict between Abner (Hal Holbrook)and Lonzo (Ray McKinnon)ranges from hilarious to dangerous, which always makes you wonder what each of the men are going to do next to get back at each other.
I loved the relationship between Abner and Pamela (Mia Wasikowska) as it transformed from the little-girl-bothering-the-old-coot to grandpa-figure-protecting-the-younger-generation. Overall, I felt the movie was well done.
For me, I was slightly disappointed with the ending. I was expecting more to come from the conflict. In the end, this is a film I would suggest others to see if they want to see a film that's both comedic and thriller/action.
