Review of That Awkward Moment (2014) by Jiana W — 26 Feb 2015
I give an extra star to the storyline between Daniel and his female friend/wing-woman. I thought parts of that relationship was cute. I liked their banter. But overall, this movie is a sad example of the state of affairs in romantic relationships in the Millenial generation. Truly, it is. These guys are, ultimately, total immature morons. They are too old to be acting the way they are. The situation with Jason and Ellie's father's funeral was basically the nail in the coffin for me when it came to maybe liking his character and movie as a whole. That he had to mull this over with himself and argue with his friends about going because he was afraid it would look like he and Ellie were in a relationship was completely ridiculous. A better ending to their storyline would've been if Ellie never spoke to this jackass again. Alas, "That Awkward Moment" will probably inspire even more people to stick with idiots because they think eventually that person will see the light and want to be in an actual defined relationship with them. Highly unlikely, people.
Not a good romantic comedy. It's actually annoying more than funny.
