Review of That Awkward Moment (2014) by Azeem H — 19 Jun 2014

While not as bad as the tamtometer suggests, the film isn't as clever or as good as it could be. It is very formulaic, and you could pretty much tell what was going to happen from the off. Unfortunately American Pie and later Superbad have introduced the sex element to romantic comedies, where guys mocking each others parts is deemed funny. Those elements I thought were poor when it could have been a sincere romantic comedy in the style of the unheralded Sandra Bullock film While You Were Sleeping a personal favourite.

Overall I did find it amusing, there was solid performances all round, though the cast doesn't really have to stretch their abilities. One to watch when there's nothing on.
