Review of Thanks for Sharing (2013) by Greg W — 06 Jan 2014
Not the greatest and most realistic take on sex addiction I've seen, but the strong cast and enjoyable interplay between them is what carries this under-the-radar film. Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins are solid, but it's really up-and-comer Josh Gad who steals the show and I always love seeing him on screen.
Pink was also surprisingly earnest for not being much of an actress, quite surprised. It's really more of a therapy session for real sex-addicts who need a light break from their lives and can see a group of harmless people who share their torments.
There are a few read-between-the-lines moments that elevated the material for me, but it's not a movie I'll remember.
