It's as much a story about 3 relationships as it is a story about addiction. The performances are top notch across the board, and it works as you watch a son and father coming to terms with past demons, a young relationship quickly fall part from untrust, and a new friendship built from personal ruins.

Could it have been better, yes. It's not a terrible movie by any stretch, but with the cast put together, and the subject matter involved, it could've been so much better.
