Review of Thank You, Jeeves! (1936) by Heather H — 14 Jun 2010
Two entertaining diversions for those who have enjoyed Wodehouse's Jeeves and Wooster stories as well as the BBC adaptation of said stories. The films are not as true to the style of Wodehouse's stories as I would have liked, especially in their representation of Jeeves.
While Bertie is still sufficiently idiotic, Jeeves is hardly the reserved character seen in the original stories and on some instances, here, even comes across as oddly passionate. Taken without the source material in mind, though, these are rather enjoyable little films.
