Review of Thank You for Smoking (2005) by Damon N — 26 Mar 2012
Aaron Eckhart charismatically plays a tobacco lobbyist who balances his unscrupulous career with mentoring his young son (Cameron Bright) in the art of manipulation. The story of his exploits is delightfully cynical, hilariously smart, and brimming with a searingly satiric wit.
Eckhart is compulsively watchable in every scene, but his masterful performance is amusingly supported by acting turns from Bright, Sam Elliot, Rob Lowe, J.K. Simmons, Robert Duvall, William H. Macy, and the rest of the well-chosen cast.
