Review of Thank You for Smoking (2005) by Carol-Ann H — 25 Dec 2009
"Whats that like 30 a day, I really think terrorists have better people to kidnap" This is just one of the hundreds of funny quotes in Thank You For Smoking.
In this film we follow a young divorced father, Nick Naylor, whose job is to make people think cigarettes are cool.
Straight away we've got two easy topics for comedy (Smoking, Divorce), and it's this that mkes the film so great.
The great thing is that it's a really easy, understandable, everyday comedy in which we can all relate to, which in turn makes it even more funny, because no one wants a forced comedy.
With fresh, not to star-studded, cast at the heart of his comedy, Thank You For Smoking is an enjoyable 90 minutes.
4/5.
