Jason Reitman's first film definitely introduces us to his signature style. In some respects, this is an earlier version of Up In the Air. However, it lacks the latter's emotional seriousness. That said, Thank You for Smoking is well written with a remarkable cast.
Reitman's knack for dialogue is evident. But in the end, I felt the film was a little too slick and formulaic at times.
