Review of Thank You for Smoking (2005) by Thomas V — 30 Jan 2012
Jason Reitman smartly tackles the important problem of lobbyism using a part-comedy approach that really works out. Aaron Eckhart is quite proficient in his portrayal of the chief lobbyist for the tobacco industry, and the screenplay actually gets a really good hold of the main problems and facts that are part of this job.
We can notice the main character's "invasion" of the screen which is in no way an issue since it is clear from the beginning that the storytelling will be made by, and centered around Nick Taylor.
The ending is coherent and satisfying, making Thank You For Smoking a great movie that needs to be seen.
