Review of Thank You for Smoking (2005) by Jess L — 06 Feb 2013
Satirical comedy about the three leading "killer" industries; guns, alcohol and smoking, but notably the focus is on smoking. Enter Aaron Eckhart who is amazing in his role of seemingly heartless Nick Naylor, spokesman for a tobacco company.
This movie is either loved or hated, mostly because the style of humour has no boundaries; it makes normally unfunny situations laughable; such as the talk show scene involving the child dying of cancer. If you can't appreciate black comedy you shouldn't watch this because most likely you wont get it.
I however enjoyed this film and thought it to be smart, witty, well written and some great performances.
