Review of Thank You for Smoking (2005) by Sophie B — 01 Feb 2014
Great watch! I loved the cast and the plot was really original; the ethics of the tobacco industry weaved into personal morality and brought to life with believable performances? Surprised me. The script was a mouth watering offering of satire and wit, the music offered a relentless sense of calm too - it was like the beating heart to the film - and direction was clean and poignant.
Although cheesy, I loved the ending the best; it tied up all the loose strings that came undone with Nick's bond with his son (spoiler - he has a conscience!!!!) and delivered the film's final message with a bang - find what you're good at, and pursue it.
