Review of Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022) by Charlieboothby — 26 Mar 2022
Unequivocally a horror of schoolboy filmmaking. It’s only saving grace is it’s love letter to gore (albeit a letter constructed by a child with underlying issues). The characters are forgettable, their relationships superfluous and the plot inexplicable.
With the direction to match. In a film so desperate to be accepted in the genre it’s no surprise that everyone dies, comes back for one last hurrah and dies again. Every character’s storyline is unfulfilling and this film is just a collection of awful anti-climaxes.
Awarded with a 1 for effort like a child you feel sorry for.
