Review of Testament of Youth (2015) by Patricia F — 11 May 2015
The film has beautiful settings, and beautiful people, but is so self-consciously staged, and slow-paced, that one never gets inveted in the characters, and the war scenes are also too pretty. Little dramatic tension, since everyone knows what will happen to all the young men in the movie.
And the ending is rushed and tritely written. The director and actors really only pull off the Oxford scenes.
