Review of Tess (1979) by Jeff B — 28 Sep 2011
I really didn't know much about this film, or rather, for some reason I thought the film was about a whole different culture/time period. Well, it's certainly very well made, the cinematography excellent and great direction from Polanski, but I felt it was overlong and some parts felt a bit out of place.
I was a bit confused how Tess got work at that farm where Angel was at, it sort of jumped right into it. That's one of the few minor things, still, it's a very different film from Polanski and a nice addition to his filmography.
