Review of Terms of Endearment (1983) by Alex V — 28 Dec 2013
"Terms of Endearment" is a dramedy taken from a book, about the story of Emma Greenaway (played by Debra Winger), the single daughter of Aurora Greenaway (played by Shirley MacLaine). The mother and daughter relationship is showed as a love/hate relationship during the movie, especially because of the very eccentric manners of the mother, a rather control-freak. Her daughter also have very strong opinions and will marry with Flap, a college teacher that tends to be a rather out-of-life person. Also, an eccentric ex-astronaut, a womanizer, Garrett (played by Jack Nicholson) will become the neighbor of Aurora.
Once again, it is a simple story about how life evolves between a daughter and a mother. The movie however also some very smart and emotional outbursts that other similar movies might not have.
