Review of Terms of Endearment (1983) by ~Tracyann~ — 03 Oct 2008
Mother and daughter trying so hard to not be like one another, yet they are so similar. Top-notch performances from Shiry MacLaine and Debra Winger. My favorite things about this movie is the hospital scene where no words are spoken between the two, but so much is said and revealed; and the kids, Tommy & Teddy, played with such raw emotion by Troy Bishop & Huckleberry Fox; you cannot help but want to reach through the screen, hold them, and tell them things can only get better.
This was one of those rare films that make me cry. Mainly, because it is 'real' story telling. Not, Hollywood, the sun always shines and all your problems are wrapped up in a nice little bow, shlock.
