Review of Terms of Endearment (1983) by Amy V — 03 Sep 2012
Best Picture Winner of 1983, this is a film that forces you to have a box of tissues in hand. A story about a mother and daughter whose views on relationships and life differ doesn't sound like anything groundbreaking, but James L. Brooks writes great characters and dailogue. I really liked Shirley MacLaine in this and she is very deserving of her Best Actress Oscar. Debra Winger is right up there as well and the last 20 minutes is what I think makes this movie so memorable.
Grade: A-.
