"JOHN CONNOR AND THE WAR AGAINST THE MACHINES".
- Fourth installment of the 'Terminator' film franchise is this 2009 'Terminator Salvation'. Set in a not so distant future the fight between John Connor and the machines continues. The well thought of plot full of thrilling action and stunning special effects are a real treat to follow as a viewer. It's the first film where Arnold Schwarzenegger isn't the main protagonist. In the cast we see Christian Bale (The Dark Knight Trilogy), Sam Worthington (Avatar), Anton Yelchin (Star Trek), Michael Ironside (Starship Troopers), Bryce Dallas Howard (The Village) and Helena Boham Carter (Harry Potter saga). Bring out the popcorn and relax.
The year is 2018. Marcus Wright (Worthington) is saved from a T-600 Terminator by a teenage boy called Kyle Reese (Yelchin) and a little girl named Star. The three of them hear a radio broadcast send out by John Connor (Bale). Conner and his wife Kate (Howard) are members of the Human Resistance that fights to survive against Skynet's army of machines. In their search to find this group of rebel fighters, the three are attacked at a gas station. Kyle, Star and several others are taken prison. Marcus is able to make his way to the Resistance headquarters, but gets injured by a landmine. Found by John Connor, Marcus discovers that he is a Human/Terminator hybride. Years ago he had agreed to take part in an experiment by Doctor Sereena Kogan (Boham Carter) who worked for Cyberdyne Systems. Considered dangerous Marcus needs to be destroyed. But when John learns that Kyle, who has to go back in time to become his father, has fallen in the hands of Skynet, he realizes that he will have to team up with Marcus in order to save the boy.
