Review of Terminator Salvation (2009) by Raaj C — 05 Jul 2013
So the machines blew up the world and all that's left of humanity are a rag-tag collection of testosterone fuelled freedom fighters. John Connor, now played by Christian Bale, has to save the man who will become his father and also deal with a murderer from before "Judgement Day" who sold his body to medical science.
As far as the plot is concerned Terminator Salvation is rather bloated and nonsensical with holes being glossed over and inconsistencies ignored but as a piece of big budget, blockbuster action, this isn't too bad.
There's some tension and plenty of explosions to help pass the time and the realisation of the robot machines is terrific, keeping very much with the established versions from the other movies. However, the idea behind the Terminator franchise is wearing a little thin and, though undoubtedly better than the last one, Terminator Salvation is merely average at best.
