Review of Terminator Genisys (2015) by Todd A — 31 Jan 2016

I'm not sure why so many others had issues with this movie. I was a bit skeptic about seeing it so I put it off after hearing so many negative thoughts on it. But finally watched it last night and I have to say.

. It was a damn good movie. I thought the special effects were on par with most of today's biggest summer blockbusters, and the action scenes were quite satisfying. There were a ton of throwbacks into the terminator history and it got me and my girlfriend into a deep conversation about alternate timelines and time travel in general.

It's both a reboot and a sequel at the same time in the tone of the new Star Trek films. It's defintiely not going to win an oscar that's for sure but that's not what I want in this type of movie.

I just want to be entertained for a few hours and Terminator Genisys definitely met that expectation. It's a shame the other sequels were canceled, but I feel this movies finale was a good enough ending for the franchise.
