Contrary to popular opinion, it's not absolutely terrible (the sadly brief and absolutely crazy stretch set in 1984 is quite entertaining) it's just really silly. It quickly makes less and less sense as the script tries in just about every scene to explain/justify exactly what is happening until you're utterly baffled.
