It's actually pretty tolerable, I think it's aimed at the younger audience who would find the old T1 and T2 a tad cheesy, (regarding the cgi, wardrobe, etc) it paid proper homage to its predecessors.
It's not a "reboot" because it's almost identical to the first two films, it's a proper remake, an update on effects and time.
