Terminator Genisys is a very bad movie for many reasons. Let's start with the positives. The effects aren't that bad and Arnold Schwarzenegger is very good in his classic role. Unfortunately, the film fails on mostly every other level.
The action sequences are ok, but they aren't really entertaining. There are way too many attempts to infuse comic relief into the film. They all fail miserably. The character of Sarah Connor is pretty annoying.
That isn't Emilia Clarke's fault, but her portrayal of her isn't that good either. I've hated Jai Courtney since the fifth Die Hard, but he actually wasn't that bad in the movie. Jason Clarke was fine, but nothing special.
It sucks that the trailer spoils the movie. There is a cool twist that I wished I didn't find out in the trailer. I expected this film to be bad and I got exactly what I expected.
