This movie's biggest issue is not a lack of creativity. It's that the creativity is foolish. The second biggest issue is the political garbage. The third issue is its lack of respect for the cannon. They swept away the first two movies, the only great Terminator films, and did their own fan fiction version in their place.
The Sarah Connor character was destroyed in this film. They swept Skynet and John Connor away at the very beginning of the film! This is no longer a Terminator film. It's a poor story that they suckered you into watching by calling it Terminator.
Just like having a Star Wars movie that didn't include a light saber duel.
