Review of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003) by Nik M — 24 Jun 2012
Think it's well worth the watch, lacks the darkness and seriousness of Terminator and the style and epic ass kicking of 2 but this movie follows the same formula as the first 2. Terminator trying to terminate the leader of the human reistence against the robot induced apocalypse.
Like T2, Arnie is sent back to help and there is a more advanced Terminator out to get John Connor, and of course an improvement needed to be made on the T-1000 (unhappy she can control machines that are mechanical but most fans are stupid) but in general the T-X being a women and being more advanced stays consistent with keeping things fresh. The chase scenes and Terminator fights are back, Arnie it awesome, playing the only role he is fit for and it feels like an appropriate way to end the Trilogy with Judgement Day actually happening, we all wanted to see that... 4 stars!
