Review of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003) by Jason K — 03 Sep 2012
So just from the way it opens I knew something was wrong, with the boring credits popping up without any of the excitement and epicness that the first two had. Then John Conner narrates stuff everyone already knows as it goes back in forth from showing the future to showing him in the present pointlessly.
Then for nearly 20 minutes of the movie it's just a boring uninteresting rehash of stuff we saw in the first two movies except without the violence or really anything R rated. Now I'm not a big "R rated material guy" but seriously I was starting to think this was the most unnecessarily R rated PG movie I had ever seen since The Blues Brothers.
Eventually when the TX comes in and the action happens it starts to get okay and feels like just another story except this time the terminator is protecting John's future wife and then suddenly out of the blew Judgement Day is happening and people are yelling at the audience what they need to know and everything feels fake and rushed and then the whole ending "fight scene" is totally disappointing and kills even more of the whole horror movie unstoppable killing machine feel that made this series so famous and then it ends suddenly and depressingly but not even in an emotional way just in a "oh they just made this to set up a sequel" way.
