Review of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003) by Robyn M — 21 Aug 2012
"The Machines Will Rise..".
Definately not James Cameron, but still good science fiction. The first action scene was James Cameron-esque with great special effects and pulse-grinding intensity. The acting was good with another cyborg-like performance by Arnold Schwartzeneggar in his last in person acting gig as the t101. (he appears in McG's Terminator: Salvation as a computer rendering of himself). With some ok performances by Nick Stahl and Claire Danes too. As far as the story goes, it holds true to the Terminator films of the past, and it kept me engaged.
Jonathon Mostow put his own spin on the franchise with this movie fitting in a solid sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Recommended to any fan of science fiction action movies, plenty of action and humor cements this movie as the third in the franchise. Jonathon Mostow is a good director, who in my opinion is up and coming in the science fiction movie genre.
