Review of Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) by Barrie Q — 21 Apr 2013
The best Terminator movie. Ground-breaking special effects for the time and there is a nice plot twist at the start when it is Swarzenegger who utters the line from the first film; "come with me if you want to live". Yes Arnie is the good guy robot this time sent back from the future to protect a teenage John Connor. The nemesis is a new series of robot, the T1000 played by Robert Patrick who lifts the perils to a new level playing a liquid metal robot who can mimic any object it touches.
The pacey direction from Cameron continues over from the first film. That man knows how to tell a story. Linda Hamilton this time plays a much tougher character. She is no longer the dewy eyed innocent and is now lean and toned in preparation for her role in raising the future leader of mankind.
Overall, a tremendous movie with a moral message as well. The future is what we make it.
