Review of Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) by Steve W — 28 Jun 2015
T2 takes everything from its predecessor and it takes it to the next level. By adding an awesome twist (Arnold is now the good guy), as well as continuing the great story, James Cameron crafts a science-fiction action movie masterpiece that still stands the test of time.
The special effects were groundbreaking back then, and they still hold up today. The shape-shifting T-1000 and the cool action set pieces make for a wild and enjoyable summer thrill ride. They also develop a new character with the young John Connor, and the Terminator learns why humans cry.
Its an effective and well made sequel that improves on everything in all the right areas. If only every action movie could be as well thought out and rounded as this one. Just because its big budget action film, doesn't mean the thrills should out-weight the story and characters.
