(1991) Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

ACTION/ SCIENCE-FICTION.

Because the first Terminator did so well at the box-office, director James Cameron was given more money and he was able to take "The Terminator" series up a notch. This time by reusing the same plot of the first and then turning the Terminator into a good guy with it's sole mission is to protect the son of Sarah Conner, introducing yet another memorable cyborg villian sent from the future called the T-1000 much of it played by Robert Patrick sent from the future to terminate or execute a very young Edward Furlong whose supposed to be the one to revolutionize the future. Although this film has a bigger budget which means some nicely staged action sequences as well as some top notch special effects the plot still delves into familiarity. In addition to watching this, their are many unnecessary improvised dialogue in this, such as when termintor Arnold says "I need a vacation " which is totally unscripted and improvised since deprogrammed cyborg's are incapable to say things such as this which is supposed to be pure comedy relief.

After re-seeing the longer version, I have to say that the blue lighting that Cameron uses had never looked so good in this film since a considerable percentage of his films he seems to love using are blue colored or blue lighting such as The Abyss, Avatar and so forth.... Anyways, the extended version also includes a longer scene involving Sarah Conner being locked up in the asylum as well as extra needed scenes involving T-1000 since it showcases some of his limits. The 4 star rating is for some of the well photographed action sequences such as the helicopter crashing from behind the truck and the T-1000 crashing into the helicopter. I also think that the movie would've been over a little bit early after T-1000 became frozen and the stars could've ended the film by picking up his frozen splattered pieces and then dumping them into the lava pit but the thing is they wanted to showcase as many things he can do and it's also less exciting if they did it that way.

4 out of 4.
