Review of Tentacles (1977) by Van R — 09 Oct 2009
A gigantic octopus terrorizes a coastal resort after an underwater construction project forces it out of its natural surroundings. It seems that radio signals jar the sea creature and give it a ravenous appetite for anything human.
No, none of the marqee stars--Henry Fonda, Shelley Winters, Bo Hopkins, Claude Akins, or John Huston--wind up being seafood for this predator. TENTACLES has more than its share of moments and director Oliver Hellman plays it straight all the way down the line.
