Review of Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny (2006) by Jacob C — 04 Feb 2010
It has its gags, really funny songs, and great cameos(ben stiller, dio, meatloaf), but there is just too many utterly dull stretches that ultimately make this movie from being as good as I was hoping. The music was the only standout funny quality, so you could just listen to the album, but then some songs seem very out of context.
The rest of the movie simply provides a weak story to weave together these songs loosely and make them make just a little more sense. Perhaps Jack Black should stick with PG-13 band comedies.
