Review of Ten Inch Hero (2007) by Genna B — 06 Jul 2009
A really really hard film for me to rate. I love so many member of the cast from a variety of things I'd already seen them in, and the added bonus of Jensen Ackles is always a good thing (he can even pull off that punk look! Although I did prefer him at the end) but the story was so cheesy and over sentimental. It was obvious from the off it would have a happy ending, that everyone would eventually end up with who they were suppose to end up with and so on. That said the films overall message was beautiful, it was about love and friendship and looking past how people look to seeing how beautiful they really are underneath - and that really is a beautiful message to take away from a film. I also like the fact that they celebrated the more wacky people within society, the outsiders. The people who are often judged on how they appear rather than who they really are, again a great message to take away from the film.
Overall I did really enjoy it, it had it's beautiful moment (no matter how cheesy it might have been) I loved the music in the film and the message it conveyed. Plus it was worth watching just for the scene in which Jesen Ackles character has to buy tampons - priceless!
