Review of Temple Grandin (2010) by Tero H — 22 Oct 2012
This was a true story, about an autistic girl who, despite her difficulties, went into college, graduated with a Master's degree and later became a university professor. It is a serious story told with a sense of humor and a lifelike feeling to it.
I liked it because it is 'different' from mainstream hollywood films and because Claire Danes is such a great actress. The film works very well. The characters have dimensions, they are not flat and the film is complex, a bit like life. It is quite thought provoking, humane, warm, impressive, memorable and one is left with admiration for Temple Grandin for overcoming so many obstacles.
