Review of Tell No One (2006) by Tom D — 20 Mar 2010
A terrific French thriller about a man who starts receiving messages from his dead wife. This may seem reminiscent of The Vanishing, but Tell No-One is much closer to L.A. Confidential in style, with intelligent dialogue, interesting characters and brilliant action set-pieces such as a particularly crunching car crash sequence.
My only problem (and hence the 4-star) is that the plot becomes overly complicated towards the end, which become confusing and detracts from what had been superb until then. Presumably they were originally going to reveal bits of the plot earlier, but thought people might get the twists too soon.
But still well worth seeing.
