Review of Tekken (2010) by Skyler I — 29 Jul 2011
Tekken is not a good movie by any means. It's a generic, fairly brainless film. But as far as intellectually devoid, straight to DVD adaptations of crappy videogame franchises go, it's actually a bit of fun, just so long as you don't take it too seriously.
I like Luke Goss and he does a decent job here, and most of the acting isn't all that bad. The fight choreography is pretty awesome, and the action sequences, with the exception of the lame opening chase sequence, are pretty good, and are more reminiscent of something you'd see in a tripe-A blockbuster than in the straight to DVD market.
The story is thin and forgettable, but for a piece of brainless friday night escapism (when there's nothing else on to watch, of course), you could do a hell of a lot worse than Tekken.
