Review of Tekken (2010) by Alexander Z — 11 Oct 2011
Just like most video game movies, it focuses on too much action and very little story. As a fan of the game, I felt they portrayed the fighting styles of these characters very well. It's surprising considering other video game movies (SF:LoC-L, MK, MK:A and DOA) decided to do just pure action, kung-fu style movies.
However, I felt the director decided to go his own route on the story and complete ignored the plot elements from the game itself. The biggest disappointment is Heihachi never fought, which is sad since he is always been the main antagonist from the series.
Overall, good for a video game movie, but nothing that will change the view of video game movies to the mainstream public.
