Review of Teeth (2000) by Robert H — 26 Oct 2009
Great little film filled with more messages than your Sunday school teacher could ever tell you. Between the evolution, anti-pollution, pro-sexual education, anti-premarital sex, God is good, sex is bad messages is a fun story of a girl trying to cope with growing up and being sexually pressured from all directions on top of having vagina dentata... for real!
Considering the main character is female, I was surprised to see that the female nudity is kept to a minimum while male nudity is present throughout... even if it is mostly severed penis in nature.
I would have liked a little more eroticism near the end, perhaps a tad more nudity and some interaction with other women. I'm not sure why, but the only people Dawn seems to tell about her "teeth" are guys. Maybe if she had talked to some of her friends a bit more, even if they did seem inexperienced, she might have learned something.
The gyno exam Dawn goes for would scare any female off getting one but much of this film has an anti-male message so don't take anything in this film for serious... please.
