Review of Teeth (2000) by Dickie L — 17 May 2010
Not the campy gorefest I was expecting, but for the most part, a rather straight forward depiction of the choices faced by adolescents and the pressure to both suppress lust and the temptation to act on it.
The first half is the more successful as chaste Dawn is conflicted about her feelings for (almost) equally virginal Tobey. Eventually, once the "vagina dentata" plaguing our herione is unleashed, the gorefest begins, although its never as meaty as one would like.
Its a bit of an oddball mix of genres. Not without laughs, but never really sinking its incisors into the material.
