Review of Teeth (2000) by Michael G — 16 May 2011
Filled with all the nastiness of a filthy dark comedy, which is essentially the definition of a film that does not take itself seriously, I thoroughly found this film to be refreshingly twisted & blood-thirsty with a smile...
I find it odd that so many girls, that I know & have come to know & know of over the course of researching this movie, before & after seeing it, think that this movie is so great or so funny or whatever, but they seem to think that guys won't like it bc of the subject matter. Well, if a guy thinks so poorly of himself, can not laugh at themselves, takes things to seriously...especially in regards to things that relate to and directly to them, ...then yea, perhaps! But, then again maybe that girl has such a low opinion of guys.. maybe that's why she thinks that he/they won't be able to handle it, find it funny, etc. In a way, it sounds like the modern definition for the word "misogyny"; a person who hates, has a disparaging opinion of another person, and/or group of ppl, bc of their sexual orientation, especially entirely or to some degree that effects thought and/or action. (As opposed to the original definition of the word; men who hate women, i.e. Mark Fuhrman!).
Ladies, if you think that guys won't handle this well bc of the subject matter then perhaps you are the person that shouldn't watch the movie...
