Review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993) by Andy R — 17 Jul 2013
I seriously don't understand why out of the three films, this is the one to get such mixed to negative reviews. I give the first movie a 7.2/10, the second a 5.3/10, and this one is an 8. Yes, you'd think that with new costumes, an absent main antagonist, an a new voice for Splinter that this would be the worst.
But it turns out it isn't. First of all, I think these new costumes are a tiny bit better because they're more...bright. And I feel in movie franchises, the same antagonist the third time around wears down and gets lazy, so a new setting and a new bad guy is what good second sequels are all about.
And never mind the voice for Splinter. His voice could've been much worse. Plus, I think this movie is the most tolerable to watch out of the three, because the turtles are now better-natured, it has a huge heart with Mitsu and Yoshi and whether or not to never see them again and go home or the other way around, and finally, in the cartoon, the way it got a chunk of it's laughs that I loved were when people saw the turtles in person and would either run away or thank them back.
This movie had the most of that out of the three movies. 8/10.
