Review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993) by Kai82 — 20 Sep 2020
Another case where good ideas were used to make a boring movie. The idea was most likely inspired by the successful videogame Turtles in Time. This idea has potential imagine the possibilities for the Turtles to interact with historic figures.
Also the Sengoku period of Japan is an excellent choices. Remember the legendary Samurai, Ninjas and conflicts they could use for this. However the reality is much less exciting. The main weaknesses are that the plot takes too long to start, the villains are not intimidating or even boring and the overall story never reaches a level that took my interest.
Even after watching it multiple times I cant remember an awesome scene. But it is not only that. The humor is also weaker and the acting is mediocre but not that bad or awful. I think the film was in development hell or conflicting ideas (visions) were clashing and ruined the movie.
The fight scenes and effects are acceptable. Overall not worth watching but not terrible enough to regret it. Unremarkable would be a fitting description.
