Review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) by David B — 13 Feb 2016
Another film where the special effects are absolutely brilliant and yet almost ruins it. The plot is basic if a little to fast to catch up. When a film can waste a character actor as respected as Fichtner, you know there are bigger problems beyond a slightly hackneyed script.
This iteration of pop culture's most idiotic quartet has the IQ of a cheese pizza but it's not a total cowabungle. Still, it could've been worse, it does have it's moments of humour and wit and the stop-motion capture is again amazing.
Jonathan Liebesman dishes out the plain old cheese pizza in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Sliding in at a mere 90 minutes, it is a quick viewing. It is entertaining and maybe one not to take seriously, it does lose the odd charm from the live-action films but it'll do.
The acting for the live actors is horrible and the casting of Megan Fox as April O'Neil is a bizarre one.
