Review of Teen Wolf (1985) by Adam S — 23 May 2012
This movie really emphasises everything that is wrong with the 80's.
Campy dialouge, horrible effects, a cheesey storyline with a cheesey execution, and numerous plot holes (i.e. Michael J. Fox, at one point, runs away with his father present due to pain at a dog whistle. Later, his dad professes to hoping the curse had passed Fox by. If his dad was a werewolf, he too could have heard the whistle, and known it hadn't passed by Fox. Also, he too would have been in pain....).
Anyway, it also contains an unlikeable protaginist (and really, you have to work to make Michael J. Fox unlikeable), an awkward love triangle and a tense basketball climax that ends in.... a free throw?
I like the mythos of vampires and werewolfs and such. This doesn't like up to it.
