Review of Teen Witch (1989) by Kalandra . — 24 Mar 2008
I loved this corny movie when I was a kid. It was cute and quirky then. Now that I'm older I realize how wrong this movie really is! This girl gets help from some witch lady to become "the most popular girl"! Whatever.
She then gets to go out with "the most popular guy in school"! She drops her friend to be popular. What a jerk! In the end she still doesn't do the right thing. This girl is just messed up and fake in my opinion.
I didn't see this when I was a kid but I do now. This movie is a horrible example to teenage girls. Popularity is a way in which people think they are somehow better and cooler. It's stupid. Most of the time the popular kids don't even stay friends after school.
It's just a four year period of fake fun! The high school experience is a rather sickening one. The cliques and groups people have is just like a new form of segregation or something.
