Review of Teen Titans: The Judas Contract (2017) by Brother B — 21 Apr 2017
The Judas Contract comes as a complete surprise due to the lackluster performances of all other previous DC animated films. While the central plot sort of follows a 'been there, done that' kind of thing, there's time given to the characters to make the overall flow of the film work.
The animation is standard for these types of movies, but director Sam Liu made clever work of using slow pulls and pushes to stress the importance of scenes. Complemented with moments where the movie lets the score swell for effect - this is overall a success.
Sure, Teen TItans: The Judas Contract still feels more of an extended television episode, but the quality is still very good, making it arguably one of the best in this ongoing animated direct-to-video series.
