Review of Ted (2012) by Paul J — 10 Dec 2013
Normally, I really can't stand comedies such as these. I find they can't sustain interest for a feature-length movie. Seth McFarlane surprised me by managing to keep my interest both comedically and story-wise.
The fact that it's the highest grossing R rated film of all-time says something about how he takes risks. Personally, I'm a huge fan of Family Guy so maybe that helps. (It's also kinda cool that he finally gives "Meg" the role she deserves).
The teddy bear is also a nice metaphor for how some men have a hard time letting go of juvenile actions and passions (I'm sure McFarlane is one of them) and the answer isn't just to come-of-age but rather to find a balance.
